Private trout fishing near Glasgow
Alba Game fishing has access to a private trout loch close to Glasgow. This is not available to other guiding companies, and is close to Glasgow Airport (20 minutes). The loch is set in majestic scenery near Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. This is a perfect trout loch for experienced anglers to enjoy fly fishing, or novices learning to fly fish. We use this venue often for our fly fishing lessons. The fishing here is tranquil and exclusive and very private. Fishing here is for both wild brown trout and rainbow trout. You will predominantly be using floating lines, small imitative patterns and dry flies.
We have used this private loch for corporate fishing events and for private parties including senior board members from Gazprom and other Blue Chip companies. The loch is private and access by the public is prohibited as it sits on a private estate.
The photo below shows a typical catering set up at this loch (this is from a previous event), we can serve delicious outdoor lunches for groups of up to 30 people here. This particular event included wine tasting and food foraging.

Safe fishing from the Bankside – (ideal for kids too)
All the fishing at this loch is from the bank. No wading is required. Access is easy, you can drive straight to the loch-side. As you walk around the loch, it’s easy to spot fish and sight cast to them. The best techniques for fishing for brown and rainbow trout in this loch are small imitative trout flies. We use special flies hand tied by our guides. They are highly effective.
The trout fishing is all catch and release, and is located near Cameron House, so ideal for small private parties and groups, who want to enjoy privacy, the best sport, and professional outdoor catering. Our team of fishing guides will ensure you are kept safe and help you enjoy a memorable day.
As you can see from the photo below, we can set up a gazebo facing the water and you can enjoy a private cooked lunch in the shade, while you watch the trout rise.

Below is a Google review from an American client, Alex Hollenburg from NYC. Alex brought three friends to learn to fly fish and traveled from Glasgow for the day.
“Everything about this fishing experience was excellent. My brother and I caught upwards of 10-15 rainbows each, complete with a top-notch lunch and a dram of whisky. Stewart is a wonderful guide — kind, patient, and super friendly.
I would recommend this trip to anyone interested in fly fishing, from the novice to the more experienced angler. Just being out in the Scottish countryside for a day, fish or no fish, is soothing to the soul. Thanks so much, Stewart. We’ll definitely be back soon.”
