Plan B of trout fishing if the weather is bad and sailing not possible.
Firstly, the Berwickshire coast offers varied and highly productive sea fishing close to shore.
Anglers can target pollack, cod, mackerel, wrasse, ling, and other coastal species. Furthermore, the best fishing is found approx 1 hour south of Edinburgh.
In addition, this coastline is internationally recognized for its geology. Dr James Hutton discovered the theory of geological non-conformity here. In fact as well as being a site of world wide geological importance, the scenery is epic.
Therefore, fishing takes place beside dramatic cliffs and unique rock formations.
Moreover, trips often pass close to the Bass Rock. This island hosts the world’s largest gannet colony. As a result, guests can enjoy the spectacle of Gannets dive bombing the surface for baitfish.

Firstly, all trips operate exclusively on a private chartered boat basis.
The meeting point is Dunbar Harbour, located east of Edinburgh.
Each fishing session lasts approximately six hours.
Secondly, all essential equipment is provided.
This includes high-quality sea fishing tackle and modern auto-inflating life vests.
Additionally, photography is included during the trip.
Fishing methods typically include spinning or light lure fishing.
We use soft plastic lures, jig heads, and hard lures.
Furthermore, natural bait such as fresh mackerel may also be used.
Optional Extras

Your trip is led by a professional fishing guide and experienced sea skipper. They assist throughout the day to ensure safety and success.
Although trips are usually six hours, timing can be flexible.
Departure times are dictated by local tidal conditions. Moreover, most fishing takes place close to the shoreline. As a result, typical fishing depths range from 25 to 40 feet.
In addition, the boat is often sheltered by coastal cliffs. This provides protection from prevailing westerly winds and rough seas.
Finally, guests may keep a limited number of fish for the table. However, sustainable fishing practices are strongly encouraged. Most fish are released carefully and in good condition.
Lastly, weather conditions are monitored closely. If poor weather is forecast, guests are informed one to two days in advance. Likewise, suitable alternatives can be offered, including nearby trout fishing.
